VRL Logistics India FTL — Contracted 01 Apr 2026 → 31 Mar 2027
This rate card has 2 active overlapping cards

How cascade pricing works
For every trip, the engine evaluates all matching rate card rows and applies the highest-specificity tier. It never stacks rows from different tiers for the same charge type.
Precedence tiers — highest to lowest
First matching tier wins outright. Lower tiers are ignored.
1
Carrier + Route + Vehicle type
Most specific. Applied when all three dimensions match exactly. Wins over all lower tiers unconditionally.
e.g. VRL · Delhi→Mumbai · 32ft MXL · ₹49,500
2
Carrier + Route
Applied when carrier and route match but no vehicle-type-specific row exists. Covers all vehicle types on that lane.
e.g. VRL · Delhi→Mumbai · any vehicle · ₹45,000
3
Carrier only
Carrier-wide rate with no route constraint. Applied when no carrier+route row exists. Covers all routes for this carrier.
e.g. VRL · any route · any vehicle · ₹40,000
4
Network default
Lowest specificity. Used only when no carrier-specific row matches. This is the final fallback — never overrides a carrier row.
e.g. All carriers · any route · any vehicle · ₹35,000
Worked example — Delhi → Mumbai, 32ft MXL, VRL

Result: ₹49,500 applied (Tier 1). Tiers 2, 3, and 4 are evaluated but ignored. This is a fall-through cascade, not a stacking model — only one tier's rate is ever applied per trip per charge type.
If Tier 1 had no matching row: The engine falls through to Tier 2. If Tier 2 also has no match, it falls to Tier 3, then Tier 4. The network card (VRL National Pack FY26) is the last resort — it is never deactivated by a carrier-level upload.
